How does a consultation with a neurologist go?

At the initial appointment, the doctor will ask the patient about what worries him, what symptoms he is experiencing, what his family members have been ill with, and examine his medical history (if any). The neurologist will also examine the patient, check the reflexes and decide on therapeutic measures. Sometimes additional examinations and tests may be necessary: blood tests, MRI scans, ultrasound scans, Doppler ultrasonic scans, myography, X-rays. Based on the results of the tests and examination, the doctor will prescribe an individual treatment plan.

SWT in neurology

Shockwave therapy is a modern and effective method for treating many diseases, including neurological conditions. We work with the Swiss shock wave device Storz Medical, which has proven it to be one of the best in its field. Shockwave therapy is one of the main treatments for the following neurological conditions:

  • osteochondrosis;
  • headache, migraines;
  • lumbodynia;
  • progressive muscle stiffness syndrome;
  • facial nerve neuropathy, trigeminal nerve neuropathy;
  • thoracalgia;
  • tunnel and facet syndrome;
  • hypertonicity of the limbs after a stroke;
  • cervicalgia, etc.

The treatment is carried out on an outpatient basis with the number of procedures determined by a specialist at the consultation.
