Fluoridation of milk teeth

Fluoridation of milk teeth

The beauty and health of teeth depend on the condition of the enamel. And for its properties, in turn, fluorine and calcium are “responsible”. Dental health is also affected by pH levels. When the acid-base balance is less than 7, it has a devastating effect on the enamel, as the acid penetrates into its structure, washing out calcium. Over time, small cracks appear, the enamel becomes rough, gray. This process is called demineralization.

Demineralization is observed in 75% of the population. Teeth fluoridation helps to stop the process. In the clinic of aesthetic dentistry “Prizma” the procedure is performed with high-quality preparations, thanks to which your teeth will be not only beautiful, but also strong. Especially fluoridation of teeth is shown to children.

Indications for the procedure:

  • traumatic damage to the enamel;
  • multiple caries;
  • caries prevention;
  • low content of fluorine in the water used;
  • tooth sensitivity;
  • after removing the braces;
  • grinding of teeth for crowns.

Bifluoride tooth coating

Among the various methods of fluoridation used in dentistry, enamel coating with a fluorine-containing preparation, bifluoride, is considered the most effective. This is the method we use in our aesthetic dentistry clinic.

How is the procedure

  1. The first step is hygienic cleaning, with which the teeth are cleaned of tartar and plaque.
  2. Before applying the drug, the teeth are thoroughly dried with a special apparatus.
  3. The dentist then gently applies Bifluorid to each tooth with a brush.
  4. The patient sits with his mouth open for about 5 minutes – during this time the drug dries completely and a film forms.

The film that formed during the procedure is not washed off for 2 days, saturating the enamel with fluorine, reducing its permeability and making it stronger. In addition, the fluorine-containing drug has an antimicrobial effect.

After the procedure, you should avoid hard and solid foods for a couple of days, it is better to limit yourself to bananas, yogurt, cottage cheese, etc.

Enamel fluoridation: how many procedures are needed?

For best results, fluoridation is best done every 6 months. Ideal – immediately after hygienic cleaning.

Fluoridation of milk teeth

For the normal development and growth of the child – fluorine is simply irreplaceable. It enters the body with certain foods and water. The lack of this substance is one of the main causes of tooth decay.

Of course, it is necessary to establish a diet that will make up for the lack of fluorine. But to protect your teeth, fluoridation remains the best solution. The procedure will protect milk teeth from the appearance of caries, and also prolong the “life” of fillings, if any.

Fluoridation of teeth in children is recommended from 2 years of age 2-4 times a year.

Covering teeth with bifluoride for children is extremely important during the period of their eruption and change. A new tooth (both milk and root) is covered with enamel, but there is not enough fluoride in it. Therefore, there is a high risk of caries formation. In adolescence, when due to hormonal changes the viscosity of saliva increases and the pH in the oral cavity decreases, it is necessary to protect the enamel. This is where fluoridation plays an important role in protecting teeth.

Sign up for the procedure – we will protect your teeth and make them diamond strong!
