Description of Insignia technology

1.In a laboratory in the USA, silicone impressions of the patient’s teeth are scanned, after which a 3D model is created using a computer. The program transforms each tooth into a separate object with the ability to move and change position in all planes; the program automatically sets the teeth in the position they will take after the end of treatment, and also calculates and creates the ideal shape of brackets and wires.

2.After that, the program places the brackets / wires on the 3D model of the patient’s teeth. Three-dimensional modeling of the end result of treatment is called a “virtual setup” (English setup). A virtual setup can be corrected by an orthodontist (changing the position and inclinations of the teeth, creating an individual shape of the dental arches), guided by the objectives of the treatment.

3.After the treatment plan is confirmed, the process of manufacturing a bracket system for a clinical case begins (using high-precision framing tools under the control of a computer program).
