Scar treatment

These are several different types of scars including:

• Flat (normotrophic) scars – barely noticeable, originally have red color, gradually become white and more dense over 2-3 years.
• Hypertrophic scars – noticeable scars in red or purple (can appear after delivery by caesarean section).
• Contracture scars – scars formed as a result of burn injuries; often tend to be hypertrophic.
• Keloid scars – appear in place of the wound due to excess collagen formation. The peculiarity of such defects is that the clotted tissue grows beyond the limits of the damage itself, even after complete healing of the wound.
• Atrophic scars – which is sunken in and results in a recessed mark on your skin; as a rule, such scars remain after acne and chicken pox.

The deeper the integrity of the skin is affected, the larger the scar. Also, the size of the defect depends on the characteristics of the body, mostly, on the ability to excessive formation of connective tissue.

Removing scars with Lumenis M22

The Lumenis M22 is considered one of the most effective in the fight against scarring. The procedure is carried out using the ResurFX module – it is based on the use of a neodymium non-ablative laser (Nd: YAG).

The essence of the procedure is that the scar tissue is affected by point pulses of light converted into heat. Due to this, the collagen develops in the skin, the activity of the fibroblasts increases, the scars become elastic, smooth out and, over time, completely disappear.

Advantages of the method:

• Restoration just for 1 day, while after usual laser polishing it is necessary to wait 2-4 weeks.
• No restrictions on the phototype – the infrared laser works equally well with both light and tanned skin.
• The possibility of a procedure on any part of the body – the laser does not penetrate deeper than the hypoderma, so the effect can be carried out in any area (even in the mammary glands).

How long does the procedure last?

As a rule, the procedure for laser scar removal lasts from 20 to 40 minutes.It depends on the size of the defect.

How many procedures do you need?
